What to avoid while selecting pin striping
This vehicle was brand new still on the dealers lot when this photo was taken!
Wax build-up, cracking, and pealing, are all the shortcomings of inexpensive tape stripes which make your vehicle look old before its time. (Even worse, this vehicle has cuts in the paint from a razor blade used to cut the tape) Some of these unappealing effects of cheaper tape stripes are present even while your vehicle is still on the lot for sale! That is just the start of things to come, when the tape stripes are falling off even before you take delivery of your new car. Many people would rather not have a stripe at all than have to deal with having problems like this with their new vehicle. There is a solution, a genuine hand painted stripe. Although there are many reputable means to have your vehicle paint striped, there are also a few things you need to know. Ask what type of paint is being used? Is it a high quality urethane like the finish on the vehicle from the factory? Or is it the type that may take several hours to dry? How will it be applied? Will it be done with a stencil that will leave an edge on the stripe like tape? Or will it look smooth and blend with the gloss of the car? Usually word of mouth in the industry will always steer you in the right direction, but don't be afraid to ask questions, knowledgeable professionals will always be happy to help.
